Northern Italy
From the canals of Venice to the art of Florence and the rugged coast of Cinque Terre, ending in the Eternal City of Rome.
My trip to Italy was a whirlwind journey through some of its most iconic cities. From the romantic canals of Venice to the artistic treasures of Florence and the stunning coastline of Cinque Terre, it was an unforgettable experience, capped off with a few days in the historic heart of Rome.
Straight to the Canals of Venice
Arriving in Italy and heading directly to the magical floating city.
My Italian adventure began with a flight into Rome, but I didn’t linger. I immediately boarded a series of trains heading north to Venice. Arriving in the city of canals was like stepping into a painting. I spent my days getting lost in the maze of narrow streets and bridges, enjoying the unique atmosphere of this floating city.
Florence: The Heart of the Renaissance
Soaking in the art, history, and culture of Florence.
From Venice, I took a train to Florence, the cradle of the Renaissance. My time here was filled with art, history, and incredible food. I stayed near the Arno River, which was a beautiful base for exploring the city’s countless museums and architectural wonders.
A Day in Cinque Terre
A breathtaking day trip to the five coastal villages.
One of the highlights was a day trip to Cinque Terre. A train ride from Florence brought me to the stunning Ligurian coast. I spent the day exploring the five picturesque villages, each one clinging to the cliffs with colorful houses tumbling down to the sea. The views were absolutely breathtaking.
Ending in the Eternal City: Rome
A final stop to explore the ancient wonders of Rome.
My journey concluded in Rome. After soaking up the art and culture of the north, I took a train south to the Eternal City. I spent the last few days of my trip exploring ancient ruins, magnificent churches, and vibrant piazzas before flying home.
