My trip to Mexico City was a quick but incredible getaway. From the ancient wonders of Teotihuacan to the lively, modern streets of Colonia Roma, it was a journey of contrasts that left me wanting to explore more of what this amazing country has to offer.
Arrival in the Heart of Roma
Getting settled in one of Mexico City's most charming neighborhoods.
After an early start in Montreal and a layover in Newark, I arrived in the sprawling metropolis of Mexico City. I made my way to my hotel in Colonia Roma, a neighborhood known for its beautiful architecture, leafy streets, and vibrant atmosphere. It was the perfect base for my short but exciting stay.
Sunrise Over Teotihuacan
A breathtaking hot air balloon flight over the ancient city of the gods.
The absolute highlight of my trip was waking up before dawn for a hot air balloon flight over Teotihuacan. Floating silently above the massive Pyramids of the Sun and Moon as the sun rose was a truly magical and unforgettable experience. Seeing the ancient city from that perspective gave me a real sense of its scale and history.
Exploring the City
Wandering through the streets and soaking up the local culture.
The rest of my time was spent exploring on foot. I wandered through the streets of Colonia Roma and the surrounding areas, enjoying the amazing food, bustling markets, and the general energy of the city. It’s a place with a rich history and a modern, creative pulse.
